Crochet - Mushroom pouch

This is a pattern for a little pouch on a string in the shape of a mushroom. I designed the pattern myself and I am very happy to finally share it with you!

  • Mushroom height: about 10 cm
  • Cord length: about 75 cm
  • Needle size: 3,5

Part 1. The stem

(5 grams - 30 min)

1. Mc 5
2. Incr 5 (10)

3. (Incr, sc) repeat 5x (15)
4. Inside loop only: Sc 7, incr, sc 7 (16)
5. (Incr, sc 8) 2x (18)

6. (Sc 5, incr) 3x (21)
7. Sc 21 (21)
8. (Decr, sc 5) 3x (18)
9. (Decr, sc 4) 3x (15)
10-17. Sc 14, ss (15)

Continue with the cord

  • Sc
  • Ch 140
  • Slip st 1 to attach on the other side
  • Slip st 1 and bind off

Part 2. The Hat

(8 grams - 50 min)

Starting at the top of the hat:
1. Mc 4

2-3. Increase 1 every round
2. Incr, Sc 3 (5)
3. Incr, sc 4 (6)

4-6. Increase 2 every round
4. (Incr, sc 2) 2x (8)
5. (Incr, sc 3) 2x (10)
6. (Incr, sc 4) 2x (12)

7-12. Increase 3 every round
7. (Incr, sc 3) 3x (15)
8. (Incr, sc 4) 3x (18)
9. (Sc 5, incr) 3x (21)
10. (Sc 6, incr) 3x (24)
11. (Sc 7, incr) 3x (27)
12. (Sc 8, incr) 3x (30)

13-14. Increase every 5th st
13. (Incr, sc 4) 5x (35)
14. (Incr, sc 4) 7x (42)

Optional: switch colour
16. Inner loop only:
ch 1, sc 1, Decr 20, sc 1 (22)
17. Sc (decr, sc 3) 3x (18)

The next part will be folded inwards after finishing.
18. Sc inner loop 18x (18)
19-22. Sc 18
23. (Decr, sc) 12x (or: repeat untill 5 st left)
   Ss, bind off and fold inwards.

Using your crochet hook, pull the cord of the stem through the top of the outside and inside of the hat to complete the pouch.
